Result Alert System with E-mail and SMS

We implemented E-mail and SMS technology in this proposed project to get exam results quickly and efficiently. Presently candidates who written exam need to wait for long time to get their exam result, even after university/board published the result. To solve this problem we are developing the new system with E-mail and SMS. In this system, the candidates can get to know their exam result through SMS or email quickly. The candidates must give their E-mail Id and mobile number when they are making registration for the exam. Then, they can call to the result center and by providing their registration number they will get to know their exam result. Also candidate’s result will be sent to his email inbox automatically. This system will send the candidate’s exam result status as a message to his mobile number.

POWER SUPPLY

It is used to provide the required electric power i.e. 5V to the circuits.

 

MICRO CONTROLLER

In our project, micro controller is used to control the whole system and connects the DTMF and speaker IC’s to system. GSM modem and computer will interact with each other and share the details by using this micro controller.

TELEPHONE SYSTEMS

Two telephone systems of Result Alert System with E-mail and SMS are:

One system is placed at User End- caller can use any type of telephone system.

Another System is placed at Result Publishing Center- here we employed a mobile phone.

APR9600

In proposed system, we can give instructions to the caller using this APR9600 speaker IC. We will store the instructions to be given in the memory of this IC. After establishment of call, the controller will trigger this memory to instruct the caller to enter his exam registration number and know his result.

SPEAKER

There is a provision in the APR9600 to interface with a speaker. This speaker feeds the voice responses from the speaker IC to the mouthpiece of the telephone at the result center.

DTMF DECODER

This block decodes the key strokes corresponding to the register number entered by the caller. Each digit in the keypad has two specific frequencies associated with it. According to the received frequencies the number is decoded and fed to the micro controller.

 

MAX232

Max 232 is used to interface the Micro controller to the computer and GSM modem. It makes the CMOS logic of micro controller compatible with the RS-232 standard of computer and GSM modem.

 

GSM MODEM

The GSM MODEM is used to send data to the mobile of the candidate.

PC

This computer stores the entire database of all the registered candidates. A high level programming language is used to configure the system automatically to send the result details to the mail Id provided for each candidate. It also transmits the result status to controller for messaging purposes.
