Appropriate environmental conditions and efficient use of water and other resources are required for the improved crop yields and optimum plant growth. We are automating the data acquisition process of the soil conditions and different climatic parameters that control the plant growth. By using this system, we can collect the information at high frequency and it requires less labour. The existing system informs the users about the conditions inside greenhouse with the help of PC or SMS-based systems. The existing system is difficult to maintain, costly and not reliable and it is not accepted by technologically unskilled workers. The technologically unskilled workers are not accepting existing system and it is difficult to maintain, not reliable and costly.
The main objective of this project is to develop an easy to install, user-friendly, micro controller-based circuit to achieve maximum plant growth & yield and to monitor & record the values of soil moisture, temperature, sunlight and humidity of the natural environment. To optimize these values, they are controlled and continuously modified. In this project, we used a low power, cost efficient chip as the controller and its on-chip flash memory is 8K bytes. In real-time, it will communicate with the various sensor modules. It is used to control the aeration, sun light, and drainage process efficiently inside a greenhouse. According to the necessary condition of the crops, it activates a cooler, fogger, dripper and lights. The status of the various devices and real time display of data acquired from the various sensors are displayed on the LCD screen.
